Nazra is reading the Qur'an directly from the mus'haf, aloud and with correct pronunciation, once Qaida is complete. Students work through the Qur'an surah by surah with a tutor listening and correcting, building the fluency to read any page unaided.
How we teach Nazra (Quran Reading)
Nazra is where reading becomes real. The letters are known; what is being built now is fluency — reading at a natural pace, with the right stops, without sounding out each word.
This only improves under correction. A student reading alone rehearses their own mistakes, which is why every Nazra class here is one-to-one and read aloud to the tutor for most of the 30 minutes. She corrects in the moment, notes where the student reached, and sets the next portion.
You can see exactly where your child is in the Qur'an at any time from your parent dashboard, and the tutor's message after each class tells you which ayahs were covered and how the reading sounded.
What you'll be able to do
- Read the Qur'an from the mus'haf without help
- Pronounce correctly at a natural, unhurried reading pace
- Observe the stop signs (waqf) and read in proper phrases
- Recognise and read the Uthmani and IndoPak scripts
- Build the reading stamina for longer daily portions
- Be prepared to begin Hifz or formal Tajweed
Common questions about Nazra (Quran Reading)
- How long does it take to complete Nazra?
- Reading the full Qur'an once through typically takes two to three years at three classes a week, though many families measure progress in juz rather than completion. Students reading five times a week move meaningfully faster.
- Does my child need to finish Qaida before starting Nazra?
- Yes, in substance. A student who cannot yet decode Arabic words reliably will struggle and lose confidence. If you are unsure, the free trial class doubles as an assessment — the tutor will tell you honestly which course to start in.
- Which script do you teach from?
- IndoPak by default, since it is what most families of South Asian background recognise, and our digital reader renders it in the same face used by quran.com. Uthmani is available on request.
- Is Tajweed taught during Nazra?
- The essential rules are corrected as they come up, yes. A dedicated Tajweed course exists for students who want to study the rules formally rather than absorb them through correction.
